Please join all our members and their guests for our annual meeting, which will take place at Emmy's pool. Bring a bathing suit and a dish to share for a picnic lunch. 

Our speaker will be Vedna Lacombe-Heywood, a Registered Nurse of over 22yrs, who currently works at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in the Surgical Trauma Burn I.C.U. She has been a part of several hospital committees, as well as a recent Essence of the Nursing honoree. In 2019 she helped implement one of the first “Stop the Bleed” trauma programs for students at Ma public schools which was featured nationally on CBS Morning News and currently serves on the Community Advisory board for Beth Israel Lahey Hospital in Plymouth. 

She is the appointed Chair of the Diversity Committee for the town of Plymouth, a state board Director for the League of Women Voters serving as a co-chair for the D.E.I committee. She was most recently appointed as a member of the LWVUS Advocacy & Litigation Committee after helping draft the Social Justice Reform Resolution for National. She is also the immediate past vice-chair for the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of MA.

She is a member of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network. She was recently awarded the Governor’s Citation for Transformational Leadership/ Social Economic Development in 2019, Massachusetts School Committee All-State award as well as the Old Colony Memorial Person of the Year 2020.
