Meeting Summary:

Regular business was conducted:  minutes approved, vouchers approved.  Ms. Clites provided a legislative update regarding HB 472. Testimony of this Willis/Peterson bill was given on 5/1.  It is the result of concern about election security.  It changes voter registration updates and adds a layer of government oversight.  Other agenda items include a record request by Ms. Smith regarding the wage study for election board workers and calendar changes because there will not be an August special election.  No independent candidates have filed at this point.  Some challenges to two voters were brought by a citizen.  Both voters' situations were reviewed and found appropriate. It is anticipated that pre-certification and actual certification of the November election may be required in a shorter period due to the presidential election cycle.
