Using New Commands in Context Menus
Webmasters can now easily manage content visibility directly from any list view, including the front page, Articles, Action Alerts, Calendar, Members-Only, and Positions. Watch the video or read these instructions to learn how to use the new commands:
Accessing the Context Menu
- Navigate to the List View: Go to the specific list view where you want to manage the content (e.g., front page, Calendar, etc.).
- Hover Over the Item: Locate the item you wish to modify and hover your cursor over it to reveal the context menu gear icon.
- Open the Context Menu: A gray gear icon will appear next to the item. Click on this icon to open the context menu.
Commands/Options Available
Demote Item from Front Page
- Select Demote: In the context menu, choose the option labeled "Demote this item from front page."
- Confirmation: The page will refresh automatically, and you will see a green success bar indicating that the item has been successfully demoted.
NOTE: This command is also available for subscribed Action Alerts and Articles.
Promote Item to Front Page
- Select Promote: In the context menu, choose the option labeled "Promote this item to front page."
- Confirmation: The page will refresh automatically, and you will see a green success bar indicating that the item has been successfully demoted.
NOTE: This command is also available for subscribed Action Alerts and Articles.
Unpublish Content
- Select Unpublish: If you want to remove the item from public view entirely, choose the option "Unpublish content" from the context menu.
- Confirmation: Your page will refresh, and a green success bar will confirm that the item has been unpublished.
NOTE: This command is not available for subscribed content.
Important Notes
- When you unpublish an item that is still marked as 'promoted to the front page,' it will not be visible to the public. However, once the item is republished, it will automatically reappear in the front page list.
- "Promote Item to Front Page" is a command available for ALL of your site's content (Pages, Webforms, Articles, Action Alerts, etc.).
- "Unpublish" is not an available option for Subscribed Articles and Subscribed Action Alerts.
