Community Activities

  • I have served on the Chinese American Association of Lexington Executive Committee as member at large for over 17 years supporting and delivering a wide range of cultural sharing and town focused initiatives.  Examples would be Cary Library fund raising, pandemic PPE distribution, Lunar New Year and Lantern celebrations.  I am currently the Co -Chair of the Governance Committee.
  • I am also proud to have served as Town meeting member Precinct 4 for 8 years.

The School Building Committee has approved a plan, “Bloom” for the new high school and building on the current playing fields in the Center. Do you support this decision? If not, what would you propose as an alternative?

  • The LHS building is over 70 years old, is undersized for Lexington high school students, and with major infrastructure past useful service.  Our community needs to address this institutional need.  I advocate building community awareness and consensus to move forward to address LHS building needs.  Our community must align to deliver on student and community needs, within fiscal reasonableness.
  • We have established the School Building Committee that has submitted a proposal to the MA school building authority for funding.  The proposal is a result from two years of consideration, work, and effort.
  • The proposal is designed to:
    • Build space based on a projected student body.  Space can be adjusted within boundaries.
    • Minimize student disputation.  The current LHS will be operational while building takes place.
    • Take into consideration a plan for recreational fields.
  • We must continue to be fully transparent with the community at large in the design and decision making process in order to incorporate the needs of students, education, community, within an optimized best value cost to us all.
