The League of Women Voters is hosting events across the country reflecting on the passage of the Voting Rights Act. 

Signed into law August 8th, 1965 the Voting Rights Act granted people of color the right to vote outlawing racial discrimination in voting and establishing procedures to protect equal access to the vote.
