League member Kevin Woodson will describe the Reimagining America Project: The Truth, Reconciliation, and Atonement Commission of Charlotte, NC at the League Talk, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 7:00 pm on Zoom.

The mission of the project is to call to account the history of racialized oppression in Charlotte,
and then to foster — through testimony, witnessing, and atonement—measurable systemic changes
to end systemic racism permanently. The commission is an ethical practice meant to heal our society, according to Woodson who is one of the project’s commissioners. It is composed of local and national leaders who are citizen ac-tivists.

Kevan B. Woodson, a former LWVCM Board member, has had a diverse career in corporate America, having worked for 3M, Coca-Cola USA, Chrysler, CarMax, Harris Teeter, and Aflac and Physicians Mutual. Kevan is the current President of the Mecklenburg County Senior Democrats; a member of the LWVCM Education Committee, Black Political Caucus, and the Education Committee of the Reimaging America Project. Kevan is a former School Board Member High School District 211-Schamburg/Palatine, IL
