Tariq Bokhari, who represents District 6 on the Charlotte City Council, was the first councilman to unveil a proposal for LGBT protections in the city after some provisions of HB2 were rescinded. The Council unanimously approved an ordinance in August that includes sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and natural hairstyles as protected classes, Mr. Bokhari will  talk about his proposal that finally prodded the Council to enact protections.
