Habitat Women Build will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2021 when it starts another house built by women in Charlotte. Tracey Rouse, Partnerships Manager for Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region, will talk about the special build project during the anniversary year. What started as a casual conversation among a small group of Charlotte-area women in 1991 has grown into an international movement of women empowering women through affordable housing. To date, nearly 2,700 homes have been constructed by women crews in the U.S. and 30 foreign countries – and it started right here in Charlotte. Every year, Habitat Charlotte Region invites women from across the community to consider being a part of this meaningful build. Fundraising initiatives for Women Build will take place throughout the summer and early fall. Watch for an evite in your email to receive a link to this program.
