1920 was a landmark year. The 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote was ratified, and the League of Women Voters was founded. Our League of Women Voters Charlotte Mecklenburg was one of the first local leagues in the nation and in North Carolina. With the 100thyear anniversary approaching in 2020, we have much to celebrate! The League of Women Voters’ mission to register voters and inform the public about issues that matter is a vital part of the civic life of our local community. - Friend of the League: $250 includes two tickets to the Gala and a listing in the program.
