Virtual Candidate Interviews & Debates

Virtual Candidate Interviews & Debates

The following are the methods employed by the LWVCC to provide impartial information to our voters prior to Oregon's May 2020 Primary Elections during the pandemic with Stay-at-Home Orders from Governor Kate Brown and which continue today when necessary.

Instead of live public Candidate forums in 2020, the League offered recorded interviews through Zoom, and video recorded debates (when possible) without an audience.  In 2022 we have been able to schedule more in-person Candidate forums.  Linking with other leagues in Oregon we are now able to offer Zoom and video recorded venues as well.

In May 2020

Primary Candidates for US House of Representatives,                        District 4 - we provided interviews.

Primary Candidate for Oregon's House Representative,

District 9 - we provided interviews.

Primary Candidates for Coos County Commissioners,

Position # 1 - we provided a recorded debate.
