Who is qualified to file an absentee ballot

 

You need an absentee ballot application if you can't come to the polls on election day this November?  This is a 2 step process:

* 1- Apply by October 29th to receive an absentee ballot application online or go to the Delaware County Election Bureau at 201 W. Front St.Media, PA 19063-5337, 610-891-4673

* 2- Fill out the absentee ballot mailed to you with the list of candidates running for office and return to Election Bureau by 5 pm November 1st. If you go to the Election Bureau to pick up your absentee ballot you can vote there and give them the sealed ballot.
NOTE: This process can take a week or more because of using the mail to request a ballot, have the ballot sent to you and send your ballot back to the County Bureau of Elections to be received by Nov. 1 at 5 PM. If it is close to the election, you can go in person to the County Election Bureau  and complete all steps iat once. The County Bureau of Elections is located on the ground floor.

If you have health issues and can no longer come to the polls, you can apply for a Permanent Absentee Ballot which must be signed by a doctor so that an absentee ballot is sent to you automatically before each election.
