SECURE VOTING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC. All South Carolina voters are eligible to vote absentee either by mail or in-person according to reason 18: State of Emergency. County Board of Elections offices are open now to do both. 

South Carolina lists 18 criteria that allow absentee voting by mail. For the June 9 primaries and run-offs, all SC voters are eligible to request an absentee ballot, in order to follow social distancing guidelines during the pandemic, by using Reason 18 - State of Emergency - as the criterion.  Read more

The League of Women Voters urges you to apply without delay.  Your prompt action helps the Beaufort County and Jasper Board of Elections tasked with conducting an election during this pandemic. The election timeline is shown below.

There are three ways to contact the Board of Elections to receive your application.  

  1. Call your Board of Elections: Beaufort (843) 255-6900; Jasper (843) 726-7709. Provide your name, address, and phone number to receive a mailed application.
  2. Email your Board:  absentee@BeaufortCountySC.govjbostick@JasperCountySC.gov.  You'll receive a return email requesting the information needed. Then they'll mail an application.
  3. Download an application directly from scVOTES.org  Enter your information, then print your application to sign and mail.
