June 21, 2026 - IRIS, the ACLU of Connecticut, and the League of Women Voters of Connecticut are coming together this July 4. Each carries its own mission and history. But all three share a simple conviction: a democracy worthy of celebration must be one where everyone can participate fully and with dignity. Will we honor the promise of 1776, or simply wave flags, cook barbecue, and watch parades?
