Texans’ understanding of why they should vote and how to do it. To address the alarmingly poor
voter turnout in Texas, the League of Women Voters of Texas and the Dallas County
Community College District has developed a free educational series designed to help young
people better understand their role as citizens in our state through voting. The quality series is
called “Be A Texas Voter” and resides online at It is designed for use
in classrooms of students at or near voting age. Your League can work to have the series adopted in
schools and community colleges across the state. Videos are also available on the League's YouTube.
