The LWV Irving Board of Directors wants YOU – yes, YOU! – to consider serving on LWV Irving’s Board!
Serve, grow, and deepen your relationships with other LWV Irving members by helping us strengthen our
organization and achieve our core mission of empowering voters and defending democracy!

LWV Irving’s Board consists of: 

6 elected officers, 6 elected directors, and up to 3 Board-appointees.

Our work includes registering voters, advocating on certain League priority issues, and educating the public and encouraging civic responsibility through programs, candidate forums, and voters’ guides. Our nominations committee is now accepting nominations for the following LWV Irving positions:

For unexpired terms starting 6/1/2021 and ending 5/31/2022:

Vice President, Programs (helps plan speakers and programs for members & public)
Director, Voter Registration/Voter Services (helps register and educate voters)

For regular 2 year terms starting 6/1/2021 and ending 5/31/2023:

Vice President, Organization (handles most internal & external communications)
Secretary (keeps minutes of meetings)
Treasurer (handles League’s accounts, pays invoices, develops budget, provides reports to Board)
Director, Finance Development (fundraising)
Director, Membership (recruiting, engaging new members)
Director, Social Media (managing profile and posting on Facebook, Twitter)

Our nominations committee will also nominate a new Chair for next year’s nominations committee and
may suggest nominees for up to 3 appointed director roles (which, if filled, will be appointed by the
Board members elected by LWV Irving members at this year’s annual meeting).
