The League of Women Voters of Irving supports the following measures to upgrade child-care in Irving:

• Establishing of licensed sliding scale fee for child-care facilities

• Requirement of a city operator's permit for all child-care facilities
• Enforceable minimum safety standards for private day schools
• Simplified zoning requirements for child care facilities, especially those caring for less than five children
• Safety regulations for transportation of children to and from day nurseries and day schools
• The wide dissemination of facts concerning licensing standards for child care in Irving
