Great Decisions 2018

The community discussion group on world affairs, "Great Decisions," will meet for 8 weeks beginning January 31. ThGreat Decisions 2018 briefing book cover e meeting place is the German Club Manor (711 Southgate Drive).

The League of Women Voters has partnered with the Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech to offer the program. Participants must join LLI ($35) and pay the LLI course fee of $35. Briefing books are available at Volume II bookstore (University City Boulevard). Register at

Weather policy: Unless you receive an email on the morning of the class announcing that the class has been canceled for weather, the class will meet. (Unlike other LLI courses, Great Decisions does not follow the Montgomery County Schools closing policy.)

Televised videos

Channel 2 (WTOB) has begun airing the Great Decisions videos. They will run throughout February, March, and early April. If you missed the first session on China, it will be repeated at the end of the series.

The showing times are: Monday 6:00pm; Friday 11:00am; Saturday 10:00am; and Sunday 4:30pm.
