Centennial Resources for Teachers

Centennial Resources for Teachers

This year, 2020, marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment: 100 years of women voting (well, some women). The early Suffragist Movement spent years and years working for the right to vote for women and the League of Women Voters grew out of that movement. We invite you and your students to take a look at the history of the 19th Amendment and to find out about the continued struggle for voting rights today. Included are a variety of K-12 lessons/activities, a play, videos, primary documents and books to read.

We hope you will share information about the 19th Amendment with your students at some point this year. Thank you for all you do to promote civic education.
