The League of Women Voters of Greater Green Bay, with the support of the Patricia Marguerite O'Neill Memorial Fund, has planned an informative presentation to enhance further dialog on the future of public education.
Dr. Julie Fisher Mead will speak on legal issues raised by various forms of school vouchers and other forms of school privatization. She will discuss the tradeoffs involved in various forms of school choice, the history of Wisconsin’s voucher and charter school programs and the implications of those policies on public education.
The topic will honor our League's late member Patricia Marguerite O'Neill, who was a passionate supporter of public education.
This event is free and open to the public. Dr. Mead’s talk is intended for parents, educators, students, legislators, business professionals and community members.
A social hour with hors d'oeuvres is scheduled from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.
Dr. Mead will speak at 6:30. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
