OCEANS: THE MYSTERY
OF THE MISSING PLASTIC
FILM & SPEAKER
Screening of environmental film hosted by League of Women Voters of
Greater Green Bay

The Environment Committee of the League of Women Voters of GreaterGreen Bay (LWVGGB) will host a screening of the film "Oceans: the Mystery of the Missing Plastic" and a related program.

In the film, scientists find that plastic breaks down intomicro-plastics--small, mostly invisible, toxic, and home to a new
ecosystem: the plastisphere. But where are they? Ingested byorganisms? Buried under the ocean floor? Degraded by bacteria? And
what is the impact of them entering the food chain? This is acompelling scientific exploration from Java Films by Vincent Perazio.

The event begins at 1:00 p.m. when the public can view displays byarea environmental groups. The 52-minute film will run at 1:30,
followed by speaker Mark Walter, Brown County Port Resource andRecovery Administrator, and a chance to network with others who areworking to understand, to clean up, and to protect our environment andlearn more about the threat of plastics.
