Focus: Immigration, Civil Rights, and Community Action

Immigration is currently the litmus test for our democracy. Mass raids, racial profiling, detentions—of both immigrants and U.S. citizens—without due process are not isolated events; they are part of a broader erosion of constitutional protections and civil rights. This talk draws on policy analysis, national data, and on-the-ground legal observations in Orange County, to examine how federal immigration policies are reshaping civil liberties—and what the response in Orange County tells us about the stakes for us all.
