As some of you know our League member Margaret Cooper was in a Japanese internment camp as a child during World War II. As part of a memorial to all internees, a flag is going around the country and being signed by survivors of the internment camps. The attached flyer gives information, the date, and the time when the Flag will be here in Santa Maria. Please note it will be Saturday, October 9, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. only at Christ United Methodist Church, 219 N. Mary Dr., in Santa Maria. Margaret will be there to sign the flag and hopes that as the flyer circulates the news will reach more surviving internees who will also be able to sign their names.
