Interest in civilian oversight of law enforcement has grown significantly in the League and in our communities. This workshop is especially for League members who are new to this issue to help you get started. Experienced League members will benefit from hearing the latest research and what is happening in other Leagues across the country, with a special emphasis on Sheriffs.
The goals of this workshop are:
• To inspire you to start or expand your League's work in voter services, education, and advocacy related to civilian oversight of law enforcement;
• To give you concrete examples, people to talk with, and resources to help your League; and
• To highlight how essential community collaboration and the League's DEI commitment are to this work.
