Interest in civilian oversight of law enforcement has grown significantly in the League and in our communities. This workshop is especially for League members who are new to this issue to help you get started. Experienced League members will benefit from hearing the latest research and what is happening in other Leagues across the country, with a special emphasis on Sheriffs.
The goals of this workshop are:
• To inspire you to start or expand your League's work in voter services, education, and advocacy related to civilian oversight of law enforcement;
• To give you concrete examples, people to talk with, and resources to help your League; and
• To highlight how essential community collaboration and the League's DEI commitment are to this work.

League President Mona Field will lead a discussion of "Redistricting, what is it? How does it affect you and your community?" for the Empowerment Congress West Area Neighborhood Development Council.

Join an upcoming presentation of draft maps to share your feedback on Map K2, and about the final district boundaries you want to see shared with City Council. City Council will vote on the final map in December.
