Upcoming Election

General Election - November 3, 2026

      • The last day to register to vote for the November 3, 2026, General Election is October 19. Register to vote using the California Online Voter Registration system. Don't know if you are registered? Check your voter registration status.
      • County elections officials will begin mailing ballots by October 5. Make your voice heard early, return your ballot by mail as soon as you receive it.
      • Secure ballot drop-off locations open on October 6. Ballots can be dropped off at a drop-off location, county elections office, or returned by mail.
      • Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day. To ensure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day make sure to mail it at least 7 days in advance.
      • The first vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties on October 24. Santa Clara County is a Voter's Choice Act county.
      • In person early voting locations throughout California will be open on Saturday, October 31.
      • If mailing on November 3, get a manual postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office.
      • November 3 is the last day to vote in-person or return a ballot by 8:00 p.m. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) in October of 2006, VOTE411.org is a "one-stop-shop" for election related information. It provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information on the following aspects of the election process:

      • Ballot measure information (where applicable)
      • Early voting options (where applicable)
      • Election dates
      • Factual data on candidates in various federal, state and local races
      • General information on such topics as how to watch debates with a critical eye
      • ID requirements
      • Polling place locations
      • Registration deadlines
      • Voter qualifications
      • Voter registration forms
      • Voting machines

An important component of VOTE411.org is the polling place locator, which enables users to type in their address and retrieve the poll location for the voting precinct in which that address is located. The League has found that this is among the most sought after information in the immediate days leading up to, and on, Election Day.
