The Leagues of Women Voters of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties are hosting a four-hour civil discourse workshop around immigration.

Negative, destructive and confrontational approaches to communicating seems to be the norm today, creating division and inhibiting practical problem solving in our country.  A major issue seems to be immigration – how, who and when. The Civil Discourse movement is aimed at reviving civility in our public discourse and addresses the need to change the tone of our current politics.

Experience how to talk WITH each other about this key issue. Workshop leaders are Judi Pogue and Marieann Shovlin of LWV Cupertino/Sunnyvale.

You Will Learn:

  • Facts and perspectives about immigration in our country today
  • How to conduct Civil Public Dialogues that inform, engage and resolve
  • How to facilitate & participate in the process

This workshop will include interactive exercises, role playing, and is based on a topic that impacts us all.

The cost is $10 to cover materials & refreshments.  Registration Required.
