Shaping up to be the most important and informative night for Los Angeles area voters, top candidates for Los Angeles Mayor, Karen Bass and Rick Caruso, and Los Angeles County Sheriff candidates Sheriff Alex Villanueva and Robert Luna will participate in back-to-back LIVE debates.
KPCC is joining a coalition of media and private partners including FOX 11, the Los Angeles Times, Univision 34, the Skirball Cultural Center, the Los Angeles Urban League, and Loyola Marymount to present a night of democracy in action. The debates will be moderated by FOX 11 anchor, Elex Michaelson, and L.A. Times columnist, Erika D. Smith. Univision morning news anchor Gabriela Teissier will join the moderators during the mayoral debate, and Univision evening news anchor Oswaldo Borraez will join the moderators during the Sheriff's debate. KPCC's Civics and Democracy correspondent, Frank Stoltze, will participate in both debates.
