Bay County

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works to promote political responsibility through the informed and active participation of all citizens in government at all levels. Voter registration, fair electoral practices, and unbiased voter education on both sides of an issue are the League’s major focus. Toward that end, the League neither supports nor endorses any political party or candidates at any level of government.

In its Advocacy role, the League of Women Voters takes positions on issues at all three levels: local, state and national. Only after the League has studied an issue and has come to consensus on a position, after debate and voting at convention, can the League take action on that issue.

Membership at the local level also qualifies as a membership at the state and national levels.

The Bay County League has made a commitment to supporting local municipal candidates with candidates forums so that every citizen has an opportunity to hear from the candidate and every candidate has a platform to speak to the citizens.

The League of Women Voters of Florida has conducted independent research on the pros and cons of all thirteen amendments that will be on the ballot in November.

View Bay Co. LWV Amendment Forum.  Here are some summaries of the meaning and impact of a yes or no vote on the amendments. For more details on the Amendments click here.
