Description: This discussion covers legal updates and developments that result from Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade. The discussion will include an overview of the multiple lawsuits filed in Idaho’s state and federal courts.

Bio: Shaakirrah R. Sanders is the first Black, African American to earn the rank of full professor at the University of Idaho and its College of Law. She teaches, writes, and comments on U.S. constitutional law and criminal procedure, including the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendments. During the 2022-23 academic year, Professor Sanders will visit Penn State Dickinson School of Law.

Professor Sanders is a contributor for SCOTUSblog and regularly sought to share commentary on current events related to constitutional law and the U.S. Supreme Court. She has appeared in a number of international and national news publications and broadcasts, including the CBC News Network, Politics Nation, Symone, NOW Tonight with Joshua JohnsonNew York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, BuzzFeed, Glamour Magazine, YahooNews!, and All Things Considered. Professor Sanders also regularly appears on television and radio news broadcasts in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest.
