Join the League of Women Voters of Moscow on Feb. 14 at Noon in the 1912 Center Arts Workshop Room for a Speaker Series presentation, 2024 Pollinator Summit Preview, featuring Iris Mayes with University of Idaho Extension.

Iris will provide an introduction to UI Extension, Latah County and an overview of the upcoming Pollinator Summit to be held March 4-5, 2024. She will describe the goal of the event, provide a summary of key lessons from past pollinator summits and discuss the partnership with Rural Roots that led to creating the event.

Iris is the small farm and horticulture educator for UI Extension, Latah County. This program includes an Idaho Master Gardener program, plant clinic for community pest problems, community garden education series and educational programming for small acreage producers. Her doctorate research focused on adult education, use of narrative and pesticide safety education. She recently received a USDA farmers market promotion program grant for the Tuesday Community Market.
