Over the past year, the City of Moscow has been working to develop a climate action plan in response to the challenges that Moscow will face with a changing climate.  The draft plan includes many positive steps that can be taken by the city to reduce emissions as well as ensure a resilient community into the future. Kelli Cooper will review the process by which the plan was developed, as well as some of the challenges faced during its development, and will provide an overview of the plan.

Kelli Cooper is the Environmental Education & Sustainability Specialist with the City of Moscow and the primary author of the City’s draft climate action plan.  She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Earth and Environmental Science and Geology from Washington State University.  She began working with the City of Moscow in 2016 as an AmeriCorps member and began working for the city full time in the Fall of 2019.
