This workshop will discuss the social conditions that give rise to authoritarianism. Participants are encouraged to listen to the Philosophize This Podcast Episode Number 136, or to read a summary of Hannah Arendt's piece: Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on The Banality of Evil. This will serve as a basis for the discussion. Kristin Haltinner is a sociology professor at the University of Idaho specializing in inequality and politics.
