Join the League of Women Voters Moscow for a Speaker Series presentation, Why Only Clean Energy Can Secure Idaho's Future, at 12 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 24 at the 1912 Center Arts Workshop room by Aaron Menenberg, Idaho Policy Manager at Renewable Northwest. Beginning with a brief overview of Idaho's energy system and growing energy demand, Aaron will outline a path forward for the state that leverages its abundant natural resources to support our growing economy and population in the most economically and socially responsible way.
Aaron Menenberg joined Renewable Northwest in January 2025 and serves as the organization's Idaho Policy Manager. In this role Aaron works closely with county governments, legislators, and state leaders on advancing development in Idaho’s energy system. Aaron has over a decade of experience crafting, shaping, and securing state and federal public policy through legislative engagement, executive branch outreach, state ballot initiatives, public persuasion campaigns, and election work. Most recently, he designed and oversaw a successful constitutional amendment ballot initiative in Nevada. His work is informed by deep pragmatism and a passion for pursuing the public good. Aaron is an avid wine enthusiast and author of the Good Vitis wine blog and loves spending time outside with his wife and two Basenji dogs.
Renewable Northwest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with 30 years of continuous engagement in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Members include a coalition of renewable energy professionals, energy buyers and marketers, ratepayer advocates, and environmental NGOs. Together, these groups contribute their respective talents toward the socially and environmentally responsible advancement of clean energy projects across the region. As renewables replace fossil fuels as the backbone of our nation’s electricity grid, Renewable Northwest engages with partners in state-level policy development and detailed regulatory proceedings across numerous state agencies to ensure that all residents of the Northwest benefit from a cleaner, safer, and efficient electric grid.
