The League of Women Voters of the Edwardsville Area raised $1,435.00 for the annual Holiday Community Service Project. It was another banner year. League members are generous.  District 7 School Nurses have a fund they use to buy replacement glasses for students, shoes, warm clothes — items they need that are not part of the curriculum but are essential for success in school. It is a way to help families lacking resources or have unexpected expenses to buy some of the extras.
On Monday, December 13th, M. Carol Gipe presented a check ($1,435.00) to Gladys Nelson, Hamel School nurse, from the LWVEA for the District 7 Nurses Fund. Be assured the money will be put to good use throughout the school year. A huge thank you to all members who contributed to the 2021 Holiday Community Service Project and to LWVEA treasurer Carol Gerdt for the extra treasurer duties required to accomplish the donation!
