LWVEA presented an informational session on the Electoral College - its history, how it works, and its impact on elections today. Rosemary Heilemann, Co-chair of a League of Women Voters Group studying this topic shared this presentation from LWVUS.
The League of Women Voters has had a position to abolish the electoral college system in favor of a direct vote system since 1970. While the political landscape has changed many times over these 53 years, the need to eliminate this indirect and confusing process has only become more urgent.
