The League of Women Voters of the Edwardsville Area met on Thursday, May 19 , 2022, to listen to a presentation by Emily Calderon, Edwardsville City Planner, providing information on planning, zoning, and development along the I-55 corridor.

She spoke to us on topics such as development along the I-55 corridor,  zoning for the Plum Creek property, and the process for applying and being granted zoning variances. Understanding the processes behind planning and zoning has been a special interest of our League in the last year, as we educate ourselves about local government and the best way to be informed and to know when questions or suggestions can be effective in the process.
