This virtual meeting will be members' opportunity to review current positions of our local league and of the League of Women Voters of Illinois (LWVIL). Every two years LWVIL holds a convention. In alternate years there is a convention of LWVUS
At this meeting LWVPFA will discuss the consensus questions posed by the state league's Criminal Justice Update Study committee. The events of early summer 2020 illustrate why LWVIL must update its Criminal Justice Position.
At the recent LWVUS convention the delegation from Illinois was able to convince the national league to make abolition of the electoral college an action item. This presentation will explain how important this is!
