Identity & Race - League of Women Voters / District 214 Community Speaker Series

Identity & Race - League of Women Voters / District 214 Community Speaker Series

Wednesday, August 25, 2021 - 7:00pm

Join Pastor Daniel Hill for a conversation about Identity put on by League of Women Voters and District 214.

As a white pastor in Chicago, Daniel Hill has wrestled with what it means for him to be white and how that affects his leadership and ministry in Chicago. Come listen and reflect on what forms your identity, how your identity affects what you learn, why it is important to understand your own identity to better relate to friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers. Join us in conversation with Pastor Daniel Hill, founder of the River City Church in Humboldt Park and author of White Awake and White Lies. Participants will have an opportunity to have a guided discussion in small groups on their own identity.

ASL Interpreter, Stacy Shein Stapleton, will be at the event alongside Pastor Daniel Hill.

League of Women Voters will offer free childcare to those families who need it during the event. All children must be pre-registered and potty trained. When registering, you will be asked for your child(ren)'s name, age and for an emergency phone number to use during the event, if needed.
