The League of Women Voters of Dearborn-Dearborn Heights mourns the death of former Dearborn City Council President Marge Powell, who died January 9, 2021 at the age of 87. Marge served as council president from 1977-1985, having earned the highest number of votes in the council elections. She ran for mayor in 1985 and was narrowly defeated by Michael Guido. Throughout her life, Marge was a very active member of the community and was known by and friends with many League members.
