Our League will only be as strong as our members—women and men from the community who are willing to lend their time and energy to educate, advocate, and empower voters.
Any person age 16 or older who subscribes to the purposes and policies of the League of Women Voters is eligible for membership.
Your membership includes:
- Memberships in the LWVDDH, Michigan, LWV Lake Michigan, and US Leagues
- Civic and Nonpartisan information you can trust
- Opportunity to make a difference in your community
You can join/renew either online (preferred) or through check for for members who are more comfortable with a non-online option. However, we encourage accessing the online portal and join/ renew that way.

2. Pay Membership Dues Online
Under the new LWVUS based membership program, there will no longer be “household” or “student” categories. Dues renew on anniversary date.
- Individuals are encouraged to pay a standard rate of $75.
- There will be a pay-what-you-can option where members can choose their own dues amount, with a minimum of $20.
Although the payment category for an Additional Member in Household is discontinued, a member joining from the same household as an existing member can choose to pay half of the recommended amount under the pay-what-you-can model (i.e., $114 or $57/member for two members as each must pay the same amount). However, to do this online, you will need a unique email address for each member.
You will have the opportunity to donate to our league after you join/renew. However, we encourage you to return to our website (lwvddh.org) where you can choose which fund (General or Education) to which you wish to donate.
