The League of Women Voters of Michigan Environmental Advocacy Network is pleased to announce a public educational presentation by Michigan Senator Sam Singh on Friday September 22, 2023 at 1pm via Zoom.

How can we restore public trust in our Elections? How can we sing beyond the choir to engage community members in our democracy? How do we move forward in an environment of polarization and disinformation? What innovations are having success?

On Tuesday, Sept. 19th at 12pm (Pacific)/3 PM (Eastern) the LWV/NICD Network will be exploring these questions.

Our March program presenting Dr. Evan Caminker, Dean Emeritus and Branch Rickey Collegiate Professor of Law, University of Michigan Law School, was postponed when North Carolina's Supreme Court decided to re-address the issue after the party balance changed. The US Supreme Court surprised many by decided the issue on June 27, 2023.

Dr. Caminker will join us on September 12 to address the original questions and the implications of the court's decision.

In conjunction with the Center for Arab American Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, the library welcomes local author Ghassan Zeineddine for a talk about his new book "Dearborn". Also joining the conversation is Diana Abouali, Director of the Arab American National Museum (AANM).
