Dr. Robert Holley will discuss the importance of safeguarding our 1st Amendment rights as well as the implications of our failure to do so.

After explaining the differences between 1st Amendment rights, censorship, and intellectual freedom, he will defend the role of public libraries in meeting the information needs of their diverse clientele and why banning books isn't the answer.

Dr. Holley is a retired Professor of Library and Information Science at Wayne State University and has written widely on intellectual freedom. He promises that you won't be bored.
