Join the National Civic League webinar to learn how cities and communities are evaluating and addressing discriminatory and biased policies and practices.
Widespread protests and calls for racial justice caught the attention of local government officials and community activists across the country who are now searching for practical solutions to make their communities more equitable and just places to live.
Since its founding, the National Civic League has sought to emphasize the significant role that local governments and communities play in shaping experiences of belonging and civic engagement. During this webinar, speakers will provide a historical overview of discriminatory laws and policies. Additionally, we will hear ways communities are working to evaluate and amend policies to include principles of equity, access, and inclusion.
Speakers are:
- Deanna Shahnami, Esq., Associate Councel, International Municipal Lawyers Association
- Jonathan Butler, Equity Manager, City of San Antonio, TX
