The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization that protects and expands voting rights and ensures everyone is represented in our democracy. The League neither endorses nor opposes candidates or political parties. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy and education. Membership is open to men and women at least 16 years of age.

The Berrien/Cass League serves people in Berrien/Cass Counties.

The House is set to vote on the SAVE America Act this week, which is the new and expanded version of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that passed the House last year. It adds a requirement that individuals present documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) to vote in federal elections, on top of the existing requirements in last year’s SAVE Act that require DPOC in person when registering to vote.
