Democratic government depends upon informed and active participation at all levels of government. Governmental bodies must protect the citizen’s right to know by giving adequate notice of proposed actions, holding open meetings, and making public records accessible.

Please join us in submitting written testimony before March 7 in favor of Raised House Bill 7125. And if you ever voted on a ballot question about changing your town or city charter that used vague or confusing language, please mention it in your testimony.

Meanwhile, We the People will host community gatherings at state capitols, city halls, town halls, and public gathering spaces across the country, to bring people together in reflection, action, and solidarity. In Gainesville, we'll be gathering with other community on Mar. 4 at 4 p.m. on the corner of Main St. and University Ave. Please consider joining us to come together for the health of our democracy, the future of our nation, and the well-being of all its people.
