A group of parents and teachers in Newberry is proposing that Newberry Elementary, Oakview Middle, and Newberry High schools be converted to charter schools. More information for parents is expected soon from county school system leaders. A series of informational meetings is planned in Newberry and the vote to convert the schools to charters is expected to begin on April 8, 2024.
