What should the future of transportation in Fresno County look like?

Position

Development of an adequately funded, multi-modal transportation system which is efficient, convenient, cost effective, safe, serves all segments of the population, minimizes harmful effects on the environment, is integrated with land use development, includes use of transit and other alternatives to single occupant vehicles and is supported by extensive public information.

Position

Every resident of Shasta County should have access to the level of health care which meets basic human needs to improve and maintain quality of life.

Position

Support of a comprehensive public mental health system that emphasizes local services, provides treatment for the individual as a whole person, and supports the relationship between the individual and his/her family and community

Position

Support of programs in the community which reduce the rate of teen pregnancy and which meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of adolescent parents and their families.

Position

Support state and local policies, legislation, and programs which promote accessible, affordable, quality child care and early identification, intervention and treatment for all children in Shasta County.

Promote social and economic justice.

LWVFL has opened registration for Lobby Days, a unique opportunity to humanize our legislative priorities with our state lawmakers. The League's reach has continued to grow over the past year and we're excited to show that off in the halls of our state capitol.

LWVAC's new Gun Violence Prevention Committee will meet by Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month. Initially, we'll feature guest speakers to learn what other organizations are already doing and how we can partner and augment their efforts.
