Our Thursday, May 16, our Lunch with a Leader will be with Los Alamos County Clerk Naomi Maestas. As always the event will be at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall from noon-1pm.
Naomi began her career in the Office of the County Clerk in 2005. Before that she served in positions with the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a business administrator and at Los Alamos Public Schools as a business services specialist.
A native of New Mexico, Maestas and her husband have embraced Los Alamos as their home for the past two decades. They revel in their familial bonds, encompassing three children, two grandchildren and their cherished pets. Armed with extensive experience and knowledge, she is committed to fostering transparency and accessibility in governmental affairs, diligently serving our community’s needs.
With a staff of seven employees, Maestas oversees election administration, serves as the custodian of public records, acts as an ex-officio member of the County Council, fulfills duties as Clerk to the Probate Court and manages various administrative functions vital to local government.
Naomi will speak about the upcoming election, election security and processes, recent legislative changes including the permanent absentee option, and her interest in Rank Choice Voting.
IMPORTANT: Our lunches come from Pig&Fig. All lunches are $13, and you can pay when you arrive at the Fellowship Hall. You can email kaskacayman [at] gmail.com for pre-orders by Monday 5-13-24 ALSO…please check your email at 10:45 on Thursday the 16th to be sure lunch has not been cancelled. It would only be cancelled because of illness of the speaker or a problem at the church. Lunches will be cancelled if that occurs.
Please send your choice of meal (by name, ex. chicken salad, BLT with mustard). Remember to choose Mayo or Mustard ONLY for the BLT . Most lunches come with chips and all come with a large cookie.

Roast Beef Sandwich Thinly sliced roast beef, seasonal greens and horseradish cream on a toasted sourdough bun (nut-free, pork-free)
Spring Veggie Wrap Spinach, roasted vegetables, shredded carrots and herb-marinated white beans wrapped in a flour tortilla (nut-free, dairy-free, vegan)
