Students Inside Albany

Students Inside Albany

2019 Press Release

Geneva High School senior Kate Equinozzi was selected by the League of Women Voters of Geneva to represent our area at the Student inside Albany experience. The purpose of this three day program is to immerse students in the process by which public policy is proposed, enacted and changed in New York State and educate them as to how they can influence and affect this process. The 60 selected students from across the state will participate in a series of interactive lectures on topics such as the state budget process, the role of lobbyists, and citizen rights to access government information.

Kate is the daughter of Linda and Arthur Equinozzi. She is President of Rotary Interact Club, and the Geneva High School Senior class. Kate interned with our State Senator Pam Helming. She will be attending Hobart and William Smith in the fall.

Geneva League of Women Voters sponsors a student each year for this experience to develop local engaged citizens and leaders.
