Your support goes directly to the League’s work to protect and defend our democracy. The League is a respected national grassroots organization that focuses on four key areas:

  •  Educating citizens and fostering dialogue on public issues;
  •  Empowering millions of citizens to exercise their right to vote;
  •  Protecting constitutional rights and fighting for a strong democracy; and
  •  Helping to create positive, lasting change in our communities.

Your membership and donations support voter services, candidate forums and similar public education functions of the League (e.g. Voter Guide), as well as day-to-day expenses (e.g. printing newsletters, renting public meeting rooms, maintaining a website, etc.). Membership and donations are tax- deductible.

Join or Renew Membership
You can join or renew your membership on-line or by mailing in the membership form. Annual membership dues are $45 per person, $70 for two people in the same household, and $0 for students (over age 16). LWVLA also offers a voluntary sustaining level of membership: $75 per person or $95 per household. Funds from regular memberships support the state and national LWV. The additional funds from sustaining memberships support work by the local League.

As a Member, How Should I Get Involved?
It’s up to you! You may choose to become involved by studying an issue, participating in community forums, monitoring public meetings, registering people to vote, or serving in a leadership role. Many members choose to support the work of the League by paying annual dues, even if they do not have time to participate actively. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and to be a force for change.
