Winnetka Caucus

Winnetka Caucus

The Winnetka Caucus Council is looking for Volunteers.

If your New year’s resolution is to become part of the solution, the Winnetka Caucus could be for you.

The Caucus is looking for a diverse group of people to help identify the key issues facing the Village, Parks, Schools and Library in 2023, and select candidates for the open seats on those boards. Ideally, a mix of younger and older residents, long-time residents and those new to the Village, from each of Winnetka’s neighborhoods.

It's going to be a busy year in Winnetka. There will be open seats on each of the Village’s governing boards in addition to Village President and three Trustees. Plus, a number of issues - continued Lakefront renovation, Winnetka's first Master Plan in 20 years, the Stormwater Solution, and One Winnetka, for starters - will be in play.

Your input at the Caucus level will help drive the outcomes of these initiatives. You will play a critical role in making Winnetka work, and all it takes is a few hours a month.

The strength of our schools, the beauty of our parks, the quality of our downtown and neighborhoods and the offering of our library are all dependent on the quality of people serving on our boards and the input and guidance we as residents provide them. Your participation can help ensure the quality of that input.

About the Winnetka Caucus Council (WCC)

The WCC is a nonpartisan group of volunteers who serve to represent the residents of Winnetka in selecting candidates for board positions on the four governing bodies, conducting an annual survey and generating platforms for each body, and holding two open town halls each year.
